Safari drove me round the bend yesterday.
Trouble was, it wasn't only Safari: whatever malaise had struck it had also spread to Chrome and Firefox. The 3 browsers weren't unusable but all 3 would hang and freeze after just 30s to 2 minutes usage. A quick trip to Discussions at apple.com/support revealed that I wasn't alone and many people were in a similar situation after the recent update to Safari.
What to do? Popular opinion recommended deleting all plug-ins for the browser and re-installing them 1 by 1, but I didn't go that tedious route in the end. I simply re-downloaded (!) the browser from http://www.apple.com/safari/download/ and re-installed it over the top of the existing one and I'm happy to report that so far, touch trackpad, it seems to have weeded out the corruption.
Now what the hell is up with Tweetdeck?
