Items for Sale!

I'm selling a 2004 iBook in extremely good condition, as can be seen by the accompanying photos. The item is the 1.07Ghz version which originally came with a 40Gb hard drive and no Airport/Bluetooth card. Since then, I have had a professional Mac repair outlet install a 160Gb drive (a difficult and lengthy procedure and therefore costly) and have purchased and installed an Airport card. The laptop still does not have bluetooth on board, but I have a BT dongle for it, which works perfectly.

I have tested all aspects of this laptop and everything is working on it -the disk drive, two USB ports, Firewire and ethernet (which I was using exclusively prior to installing the Airport card). Battery life however, as might be expected is not great, probably only giving around 90 minutes use. This Mac is best used plugged into the mains, where possible.

This model does not of course have a built-in web cam.

I have brought it up to the latest OS available to it, which is OSX Leopard 10.5.8. This Mac works very smoothly and is quite rapid, even by modern standards.I was astonished recently to watch the BBC News channel on it for a few hours using an iPhone 3G as a USB modem -that's how well it works. It only has 512Mb RAM installed but this can easily and cheaply be brought up to 1.25Gb (256mb is installed on the motherboard) by the user. The only thing that I have noticed is that since installing the Airport card, the computer is not quite as fast as it was, so it would probably be a good idea to upgrade the RAM in the machine.

I can easily deliver this Mac in person to buyers in Belfast or Dublin and will, for a small consideration deliver it to any major town in Ireland on a railway line.

I am inviting sensible offers to me to by contacting me at taisgidh@gmail.com or by SMS, Voice or iMessage to +353867299999. None of the other items seen in these photos are included in this sale.

More on the Stage Fright SA-CD.

Have a gander at this.....

Steve Hoffman thread

An SA-CD bargain

Have long wanted to buy one of the Band's SA-CDs on Mobile Fidelity but they were prohibitively expensive since release. Strangely, the only one not available in the format is the "Brown Album", which may have warranted, of course, the high price. So, I passed. Until last week that is when I found the third album, "Stagefright" buried in the caves of HMV.com, where oddly, its price (but not that of its siblings), has dropped to just 8,99GBP.

Instant purchase.

It arrived on Friday and it's.....what do they say these days? Awesome -that's it. Seriously, the sound is terrific, the packaging gorgeous, the mix that of the original Capitol vinyl, that curious hybrid of the Glyn Johns' and Todd Rungren's 4 discrete mixes.

If I were you, I wouldn't even hesitate. here's where to go:

Buy it here!

Yes, I know, having just got rid of AdSense that this is a curious posting of seeming product placement but this truly is a sonic and musical bargain, and I want others to enjoy.

I'll find some comments from others and post links.
Hmmm.....I think I've finally got rid of that adsense nonsense, thank goodness. Wouldn't have minded if someone, Apple or Google has paid me any money, but no! Looks to be gone.

Now that the blog is linked with Google+, wish I could update via Path. Not used to huge keyboards any more.
